Happy Halloween everyone!   We’re getting into the spirit today, Valentina has had a Halloween party at school already on Thursday, we did a picnic in the park with some other local mamas last night, and we have a Halloween party to go to tonight.  Having littles ones has given Halloween a renewed sense of fun for me.  Here she is in her Minnie Mouse costume (minus the ears!):

Today I have some of my favorite magic potion drinks for you – they’re simple, quick and easy, but can make a good contribution to your health (especially if you’ve overindulged in candy this Halloween!).

The Every Day Energy and Brain Booster Drink

  • 1 scoop Nanogreens powder
  • 1 teaspoon liposomal glutathione
  • 1 cup water

Nanogreens are a concentrated nutrient source including concentrated fruits, vegetables and herbs. It is a fantastic option for people who may not get enough fruits and vegetables in their diet. Unlike many greens powders Nanogreens tastes great – it is slightly sweet, and can be taken alone in a little water, or mixed into a shake. It’s a powerhouse of nutrients in a powdered form.

Glutathione is one of the key antioxidants in the body – it helps brain function and clarity, energy, and supports the body’s detox systems. My favorite glutathione is Researched Nutritionals Liposomal Glutathione. One teaspoon daily mixed with water is all that is needed. It can be added to the Nanogreens drink.

The Heal My Gut Drink

  • ¼ cup aloe vera
  • 1 tablespoon slippery elm powder

Aloe vera juice is great for people with digestive problems including inflammation and leaky gut. It is soothing, cooling and healing. ¼ cup twice daily is the recommended dose to heal a gut that has been damaged by inflammation, food allergies, parasites, yeast overgrowth or medications. Add one tablespoon of slippery elm powder which will also help to soothe and heal the digestive tract.

The Liver Detox Drink

  • Juice of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2-4 cloves crushed garlic
  • ½ cup orange juice or grape juice
  • ½ cup water
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix the above listed ingredients together in a blender then drink up! Believe it or not, it’s actually pretty tasty.

The Kidney/Bladder Flush Drink

  • Juice of 1 lemon & 1 lime
  • 16 ounces purified water
  • 8 ounces pure cranberry juice
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix the above listed ingredients together in a blender then drink up! It is a lot of liquid but should be consumed within 15 minutes.

I do the energy and brain booster drink every day. People with gut issues would want to do the heal my gut drink once or twice daily for at least 12 weeks, along with probiotics. The liver and kidney flush drinks could be done once a week ongoing, or daily during a 10 or 21 day detox program.

If you’re going to indulge in some candy today, then enjoy it!! But get back on track next week with your favorite health habits – remember we still have the entire holiday season to get through!!
